In 1930, a fire destroyed the original clubhouse, but Irondequoit Country Club quickly rebuilt and continued to grow as a premier golf and social destination. The Club gained regional and national recognition through standout members and professionals, including Head Golf Professional Frank Commisso, a multiple Western New York PGA champion, and member Sam Urzetta, winner of the 1950 U.S. Amateur Championship.
The golf course expanded to 18 holes in 1952, creating the full championship course enjoyed by members today. Over the years, continued investments in clubhouse renovations, swimming facilities, racquet sports, and recreational amenities have elevated the Club into a full-service private country club experience.
Today, Irondequoit Country Club stands as one of the premier country clubs in the Rochester and Pittsford area, offering championship golf, upscale dining, and a vibrant, family-friendly community with a rich tradition of excellence.
